I watched American Idol Season 8, Sex and the city dvd, Friends, etc. These shows mainly express friendship, love, fashion and real life, but flashpoint seasons 1-3 dvd is about an elite tactical unit, called the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), within a Canadian metropolitan police force. The SRU are tasked to resolve extreme situations that regular officers are not trained to handle including hostage-taking, bomb threats and heavily armed criminals. Equipped with high-tech tools and a cache of weapons and explosives, members use negotiation tactics and intuition to try to avoid the use of force. These guys in flashpoint seasons have emotions, feelings. We see what led to the situation and that very often there isn't a simple solution to the situation. The negotiations are the very strong point and the will to solve it without guns. flashpoint series shows what it is to shoot somebody - even for a highly trained and tough elite unit member. It takes its toll on every one. Anyway, it is a unique series and I hope it stays for another couple of seasons.
